EasyWater Installation Tips

Finding your Cold Water Main

Your water shutoff valve (where you shut off all the water to your house) is on the cold water main. Find the valve and you find the main. Install your EasyWater on this pipe as close to where it comes into the house as possible. This will ensure that you are treating the outside spigots and kitchen unlike standard salt type water softeners.

Well Installation

Customers on a private well will need to install the EasyWater system after the well’s pressure tank.

Cannot access main line before it splits

Follow the cold water line back as far as possible from water heater and install there. By doing this you may not be treating all of your homes water and in some cases you may only be treating hot water.

Softener Loop

The Easy Water system can be installed on a softener loop as a last resort, however doing so may mean only your hot water is being treated, not the cold.

A tight wrap is VERY important

If there are any gaps between the wraps the EasyWater will not work to its full capacity.
The following photos are examples of good and bad wraps.

Wrapping a Bend or Elbow

The best place to install your EasyWater is on a straight or "T" section of pipe. On occasion, "T" section is not possible and an elbow may be in the way. If you are faced with an elbow, you cannot wrap the elbow itself. You will need to bridge the elbow by wrapping right up to the elbow, stretching the wire over the elbow and continuing to wrap on the other side of the elbow.

Outside Installation

The control box on all EasyWater units is waterproof and the unit can be installed outside. If you need to install outside or bury the wrap you must cover both the wrap and the 3M clips with electrical tape to protect them from the elements.

3M Clips

The included 3M clips are designed to make the wire connection as simple as possible. Simply insert one wire from the signal wire and one from the wrap into each of two different slots in the clip (you will have an extra slot). Clamp down tightly with pliers to ensure a connection is made. Do not strip the wires before inserting into the clip. You may use wire nuts to make the connection if you are comfortable doing so, but these are not provided.
