Remove Lead from Drinking Water

JAN 10

Did you know that through the 1950s, the plumbing code in many cities actually required that the line delivering fresh water from the city water main to your home be made of lead?1  Unfortunately, it was unknown at the time that lead would leach into household water and cause toxicity in every one of the body’s organ systems. Lead Residential water lines were still being installed in many cities until 1986, and even now, “lead-free” pipes and fittings can contain up to 8% of the toxic metal.2

The EPA states that there is no safe level of exposure to lead2, but they do require cities to take action when greater than 10% of households have more than 15ppb of lead in their water. As a result, many U.S. cities have adopted the practice of replacing water service lines made of lead. This practice has unfortunately backfired, because most homeowners don’t want to pay to replace their portion of the line, and partial replacement of lead water service lines may cause even more lead to enter household water!1 In addition, lead can be released from limescale that coats the inside of older pipes, even if a full replacement is done.

While lead cannot be absorbed through the skin like many other water toxins3, consuming lead through drinking or cooking water can pose serious health risks. So, if you’re concerned about lead in your water, installing the EasyWater RevitaLife Drinking Water System will provide the protection you need. EasyWater RevitaLife is a powerful 5-stage reverse osmosis (RO) drinking water system that effectively removes lead, and many other contaminants down to .0001 micron in size. A unique remineralizing filter then adds back calcium and trace minerals, and raises the pH to a more natural level. RevitaLife is a very cost-effective, convenient, and environmentally-friendly alternative to bottled water, and will protect your family against the dangers of lead poisoning.
