How can I tell the EasyWater No-Salt Conditioner is Working?

Is My No-Salt Conditioner Working?

APR 11
One of the wonderful things about using the EasyWater No-Salt Conditioner is that it does not chemically change your water at all, and all of the minerals that are naturally present in your water will continue to be in your water.

Since the EasyWater No-Salt Conditioner does not work by removing minerals from water, you will not be able to use standard water testing kits that test for water hardness pre- and post- treatment. Your water will usually measure exactly the same after treatment with our No-Salt Conditioner as it did before treatment!  Rather than measure the results given by the EasyWater No-Salt Conditioner based on the color of a strip of paper, it’s best to measure how well the EasyWater No-Salt Conditioner works by noticing the results around your home. After all, results are the most important reason to treat your water.  This checklist will help guide you through how to tell that EasyWater is working and doing its job.

Immediately After Installation

Lights on the Unit

When the EasyWater No-Salt Conditioner is correctly installed, two lights will illuminate on the front of the system. One will say “power”, and the other will say “descaling”. If you get a red or flashing “overload” light, check out page 7 of your owner’s manual for troubleshooting tips.

Skin and Hair

Many customers like report to us that they can tell a difference in the feel of the water immediately after installation of the EasyWater No-Salt Conditioner.   This result will be entirely subjective, based on several factors including the hardness of your water, your prior water treatment history, and what you consider to be a ‘nice’ feeling. Please note, we do not expect you to experience a difference in the feel of the water right away, but consider it a nice bonus.

During the Descaling Period

Your water might test harder

Depending on the hardness of your water and the age of your home, it can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to several months before your pipes and plumbing are completely descaled. During this period, you might notice that your water feels harder, or that you have more water spotting on surfaces. If you do test your water during this period, it might test much harder than it normally does as well.

Faucet Aerators and Showerheads

The EasyWater No-Salt Conditioner works best where water is flowing, but we don’t expect you to cut open your pipes to check on the results! There is a very simple way to check on the results you’re receiving from the EasyWater No-Salt Conditioner. Simply unscrew your sink faucet aerators or showerheads and observe what happens to the existing build-up inside them. Take a picture before you start using the No-Salt Conditioner, and continue to check these areas at weeks 1, 2 and 3. For all homes but the most scale-heavy, the existing build-up should be completely gone by the 3-week point.

Water Heater

Keeping your water heater clean is actually the key to seeing full results in the fastest amount of time. Water heaters will collect large quantities of limescale build-up, and the EasyWater No-Salt Conditioner will dissolve this build-up a little bit at a time. Taking the time to flush the loose scale minerals out of the bottom of your water heater will ensure that the treated water inside your tank will continue to work on the solid scale build-up still remaining. Once your water heater is free of build-up, the treated water can go to work on the undissolved scale in your pipes and plumbing, and the water-using appliances inside your home.

Long-Term Results

Scale-free appliances

Dishwashers, washing machines, ice makers and water heaters will be more efficient and effective, and will last longer than appliances that use untreated water. Many of our customers have noticed a decrease in their energy bill as well. As scale is removed from heating elements and components in appliances, the increased efficiency leads to lower energy consumption.

Reduced soap and detergent usage

Depending on the hardness of your water and previous water treatment history, detergent and soap usage will decrease by about 25-40%.

Nicer Laundry

Whites will be whiter, brights will be brighter, and laundry will be softer out of the wash.

Easier Cleaning

While evaporative mineral spots will most likely still be visible, the spots that you do see will be much easier to wipe away. You’ll also notice that toilet rings will be much easier to clean.
